Wireless internet. This project was to provide free wi-fi access to patrons of a coffee shop off lower Greenville Gachet Coffee Lounge. This project included the design of a wireless network that would give the highest possible quality of service to paitrons of the coffee house while minimizing the leakage outside. Some of the complications included access on the ground floor as well as roof access which was located on the third floor. Also with access on the third floor roof weatherproofing was an issue. Given Texas heat the solution had to include provissions for all sorts of weather. The final solution consisted of a single router/ap and external high gain directional antena for the ground floor coupled with power over ethernet to dual juxed opposed ap/omnidirectional roof mounted antenas. This gave the exact performance calcualted and performed just as expected. To aid in the potential for hardware lockups a sinlge power point made for easy recovery. A simple flip of a switch causes the entire system to reset to the same conditions as the install.

IP Based Video Security Solutions. This project was one to help create a proof of concept for a market that is just emerging. Digital video has become a rpevalent part of most peoples day to day lives. One place where digital viedeo is under utilized is in the security space. There are multi channel DVRs but we have not found one that can handle 7200 Hours of video yet. With a 10 camera install and 30days of online archived video this system is a sight to behold. To accomidate longer acrives of video all we do is add storage. All archived video can be viewed using an smb share that is access controled and read only. the video cna be coppied off but nothing can be added or removed from the share. This prevents tampering and allows us to ensure storage space is not hampered with. All video is MPEG4 compliant DivX video stream playable in windows media player or quicktime with the appropriate plugins. Mplayer for linux allows viewing of video as well.

 VOIP Server Solutions.  VOIP is a hot topic right now causing a bit of a stir in the established telcom world.  The idea of inexpensive long distance to the ends of the earth is now a reality with most people enjoying long distance free phone service while still being in contact with their friends, relatives, and buisness associates all around the country.  This is possible using several different methods and each one can be custom fit to your home or small buisness.  Currently WanTEK is performing  installs of these custom setups for business users wanting to cut outbound long distance.  For users wanting cheap long distance and all the features of a high end PBX system we can help as well.  Call WanTEK for details.
